"I plan to go to the State Legislature,
ask the tough questions, build consensus and champion
good solutions to make Nebraska even better."
Strong Families - I have over 30 years of experience working for families through my work at the YWCA as well as a wide variety of non-profits and community organizations. Better Jobs - I have the leadership it takes to build consensus in the legislature to create jobs. I will work to build public-private partnerships to increase our prospects for economic development in Nebraska. Education First - I will make education a top priority. The future of Nebraska depends on our ability to effectively provide a quality education to our children. I am Susan Scott, candidate for District 29 in the Nebraska Legislature. June 1, 2008 Dear Voters and Supporters, I appreciate your support and am ecstatic about the outcome of the primary election because we proved to all the doubters that I CAN be competitive in District 29. The actual count was less than 36 votes of upsetting the incumbent or, in my words, "the appointed," State Senator on May 13th. Thank you for your hard work and support during these past months. I am motivated by the results and look forward to a vigorous general election campaign. During the primary, I telephoned about 700 persons and walked door-to-door in my district, visiting over 2300 households. You can count on me to be very active in the months leading up to November. I will work hard to ensure that this is just the beginning of a successful campaign for the Legislature. The support of countless volunteers, who helped distribute literature, made phone calls on my behalf and believed in my candidacy, when some thought it wasn't possible for me to win in this District, are the things I will remember as I work to become the next State Senator from District 29. In the coming months, I would appreciate your assistance identifying good locations for yard signs for the general election. Locations can be on arterials between District 29 and downtown or in the District itself. If you can get permission that would be great or I will be happy to visit with folks to request their permission so we will be ready to go when we can install the signs. THANK YOU for your support. With your continued assistance and encouragement, I know we can win this election and build a brighter future for the State of Nebraska. Thank you for your support. ![]() Email Susan Scott at: susanscott@susanscottruns.org |
